How do you know if your horse's gait is asymmetrical? Tools from science and engineering.

Join us for an evening chat with Laura Miller, PhD, Professor of Mathematics,  University of Arizona

Abstract:
Every horse has a story in their movement—and sometimes, the imbalances are easy to miss. In this talk, I'll share what we've learned from studying gait asymmetries in retired racehorses as they transition into new careers. Our group at the University of Arizona combines science, classical dressage, and bodywork to understand how asymmetries develop and how they can be improved with bodywork and training. I'll also show you how to analyze your own horse's movement using simple smartphone apps—no lab needed. Whether you're a rider, trainer, or just curious, you'll leave with practical tools and a new way of seeing movement.

Join us on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at 7PM via Zoom. Meeting link will be emailed once registered. Look forward to you join us for this educational talk.
